REGARDING your report 'Bishop accuses Hague of escapism' (LET, April 18), I disagree with the bishop entirely.
For I, too, feel nearer to my God in my garden and in the open countryside, than I ever did in church.
But, then, it's hardly surprising, is it with some of the things the church condones today?
The clergy have only themselves to blame for their empty churches. They are afraid to stand up for what is right and proper.
Therefore they have no right to criticise anybody until they have the courage to put their own house in order.
