THE Metro's Millennium Parish Map - conceived and made by local people - is coming on a treat.
More and more local memories are being designed into the mammoth wall hanging, which is based on the lines of the Bayeux Tapestry.
Anyone can join in with ideas for the decoration being organised for the celebrations by the Wigan branch of Soroptimist International.
Latest additions include the trams which once ran in Leigh, Pennington Flash, Morts family crest, Dam House at Astley and St Stephen's old Astley church.
More progress can be followed at the next meeting at the Professional Development Centre, Park Road, Hindley, on September 19 (7pm). Anyone who wishes to take part is invited.
