MAY I congratulate Bury College on their stand against this Labour government's nonsense in promoting public transport and bicycles.
I wish them luck in their planning application for a road and car parking facilities on the college playing field.
I know it will be passed because, like me, our councillors drive cars and demand to park as near to where they are going as possible.
I know some trees may have to be felled but - as Holy Cross College recently demonstrated - they can be satisfactorily replaced by shrubs. There is nothing worse for your car's body work than to park it under a tree!
