I WAS horrified when I read the letter from Bolton Road Sports Club (July 24).
The blame is not with councillors Walker and Walton. They are supporting residents who do not want 81 houses built on the sports club field, nor do they want the extra traffic that will be brought to the already congested Bolton Road.
The club should put the blame on Bolton Road Methodist Church who have forced them out to fulfil their own greedy desire for a new church when the public inquiry said that the present building was good for another 30 years.
They have caused grief and anxiety to the sports club and to the residents of both areas affected by this plan, compelling the club to move to where they are not welcome. Other churches raise money by their own efforts.
There has already been too much new building in west Bury.
