I WAS incensed to read your article relating to Longton Mansion House.
How dare you say that it is derelict?
It is absolutely beautiful inside and this year my husband and I have been for Sunday lunch on numerous occasions.
Is Councillor Jim Breakell receiving a back-hander for his comments that Longton Mansion House has been derelict for a long time?
What utter rubbish!
I believe it was as late as April the last time we went there to eat Sunday lunch.
I believe that the Mansion House has never been properly marketed or advertised to its full potential.
The building is beautiful and why Booths need another supermarket there beats me, and also many other by the sound of it.
What a tragic day if the Mansion House is demolished.
I have had some beautiful meals there, in salubrious surroundings.
I also used to play squash there in my younger days.
I am delighted that so many people are opposed to its change of use and sincerely trust that permission will not be granted for a supermarket.
