DEEPDALE football legend Sir Tom Finney has officially been acknowledged as one of English football's 100 greatest in the last century.
Seen as the best ever player in a lot of Preston people's eyes, he was not surprisingly chosen by a team of experts to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the English Football League.
He said: "I am very thrilled about this honour. It's great to be named among a fantastic list of players."
Modest Tom also added that it was nice that the league is honouring its anniversary in such a way.
"In a time where history is being remembered more than ever -I'm very honoured to be apart of it."
Other Preston players chosen in the top 100 were John Goodhall, who played in the 19th century, and Alex James from the 1920's and 30's.
