By LISA DALEY from St Mary's High School, Blackpool, who has won silver in the 300m and 60m as well as a gold in the 4x60m relay at the Disabled Young Athletics Championships:
Recently I set off to the Czech Republic to represent Great Britain in the Disabled Youth Athletics Championships.
It was a very exciting time and I was really looking forward to it.
The 100m races were before my races so I watched them and thought the Spanish looked very good.
Soon it was my turn to run. The race didn't seem to last long, in fact it was over in a few seconds. I came second and I was through to the finals.
In the next race I was up against a Spanish girl and again I came second and was really pleased.
The following day was the 300m straight final. I got a good start and led until the last 10m when a Czech girl decided to overtake me.
I was really pleased to come second because I have never done a 300m race before.
All I could hear when I was coming down the home straight was my team mates shouting: "Come on Lisa."
It was a great feeling being presented with two silver medals and one gold at the end of the championships - I was so proud.
