THE area's first ever wheelchair basketball team are up and rolling with a side of locals prepared to give their all for the cause.

But still they need £10,000 to purchase second hand sports wheelchairs and put a deposit on a team mini-bus.

If they can raise those funds they will then be able to represent the area in the Lancashire league and also visit schools, clubs and organisations to promote the sport and integrate disabled and able bodied children and adults.

For many of the team this is there first chance to play a team sport since they had their disability. You can help them by donating money, sponsoring the team or just buying a copy of The Sporting Chance Magazine from your local newsagents. Contact fund manager Tim Johnson on 389529 (9am to 5pm).
