I WONDER if any readers can help me. I need information about Blackpool in the war years.
For instance, I am looking for anyone with memories about the tram depot being used by the Royal Air Force personnel learning Morse code.
I would like to hear from men and women who helped build Wellington bombers at Squires Gate.
I would like to receive memories of Blackpool boarding house landladies who took in RAF personnel while they underwent training.
Has anyone any recollections of the blackouts and rationing and how they affected Blackpool?
I am collecting the information for a book I am writing based on the wartime experiences of my late father, Kenneth Wilkinson, a rear-gunner from Lancaster who married an amateur opera singer called Alice Draper.
Unfortunately she died when I was still a baby.
I would gladly refund the postage of anyone who writes to me with their own recollections of Blackpool at war.
