WITH the new season looming up, the St Helens Combination divisional format has been finalised.

There will be four divisions of 12 teams in the Saturday competition and two divisions in the Sunday competition.

New Saturday clubs include:

Bewsey FC, Trees FC, Leach Lane FC, Gerard Arms Reserves, Grosvenor Park FC, Red Star (Rainford), Engine FC and East Sutton Labour Reserves.

Three existing clubs have changed there names. Globe become Travellers Rest, Hamblett are now Cowley Hill Park and Railway have switched to Junction.

Meanwhile, at the recent annual meeting, Mrs May Gordon, widow of president Tom Gordon presented the Tom Gordon President's Memorial Cup to Carborundum for the second time.

She also presented the Keith Harrison Referee of the Year trophy to Tom Swift and the Sunday division referee of the year to Ian Lowe.

In his annual report chairman Eric Bond congratulated teams on their success in outside competitions. Owens Corning Ravenhead won the Umbro tournament in Manchester and the North West Inter-League Alliance Cup, the Anchor won the Liverpool FA Intermediate Cup and the Child were successful in the Liverpool FA Junior Cup. Committee changes included John Pennington taking the role of assistant league secretary, with Bill Roberts now having the position of fixtures and competitions secretary (Saturdays only).

Dick Hesketh (East Sutton Labour), Bernard Teebay (West Bank) and David Howarth (Gerard Arms) will be the clubs representatives on the league management committee.

John Pennington will also be responsible for Sunday League fixtures and Steven Shaw will be Sunday referees appointments secretary.

Phil Duffy continues as open-age inter-league manager.

But there is still a vacancy for under 18s inter-league manager.
