A MULTI-million pound office development will be built on Bury's main showground.
Bury Council planning officers have given the go-ahead for office blocks to be built on the land at Castlecroft where the Bury and District Agricultural Show has been held.
The new building will occupy 3,900 square metres, with 238 car park spaces being provided alongside.
Organisers of the agricultural show, one of the biggest fund-raising and social events held in the borough, say that if they do not find a new site the event will end after 57 years.
Council officials have stated that they are trying to find a new showground to host major events.
