COUNTY transport chiefs called in the big guns to end the bus wars choking Blackburn town centre.
Despite an end-the-chaos ultimatum, bus companies had failed to reach a 'gentleman's agreement', and sheer numbers of buses were bringing the town to a standstill.
Lancashire County Council started looking at legal steps to force an end to the stranglehold.
