FUND-raisers inspired by a toddler's courage pulled together to raise £1,500 for charity.

Little Rachel Taylor is one of only 24 known sufferers in the world of a rare chromosome disorder which means she suffers from epilepsy and mental retardation.

Landlady Carol Higham and regulars at the Beehive pub near Rachel's home at Greenside Avenue, Blackburn, all joined forces to raise money for Unique, a support group for families of children who suffer from similar conditions.

Rachel's mum Carol said: "They held a beach party at the pub, a mock auction, and one chap even ate a tequila worm to raise money for the charity.

"All monies raised will go to help families like us and to find out more about rare chromosome disorders."
