GERALDINE Broderick and her fiance John Trenter just can't wait to tie the knot and live happily ever after.

It's just a shame the same can't be said for their doggy counterparts.

For when Geraldine introduced her mongrel Floppy to John's alsation Tess it was war at first sight!

Now Geraldine, of Aberdeen Drive, Blackburn, is trying to find a good home for Floppy and his moggy pal Lucky before her big day at Whalley Methodist Church on September 12.

She said: "After we're married, I'm going to move to John's house at Billington and I'd love to take Floppy and Lucky with me, but it just won't work out.

"As soon as Floppy met Tess she became so aggressive. No matter how much we try they just don't get on and Tess hates cats, so that means that I can't bring my cat Lucky either." Floppy is a six-year-old mongrel and looks similar to a long-haired Yorkshire terrier, while Lucky is a very young-at-heart 13-year-old.

Geraldine said: "I rang the RSPCA to see if they would take them in but they said that because Floppy and Lucky were older it would be difficult to re-house them and they might end up staying there for years.

"I really don't want that. They have come from a good, loving home and I want them to go to another good home. They are really affectionate and good fun and would give the right families a lot of joy."
