A 49-YEAR-OLD man taken to hospital after cutting two fingers and slicing the top off his thumb in a works accident.
Robert Wilson, 49, of Burnley, was injured in the accident at KSS Scaffolding, Blackburn.
He was taken to Blackburn Royal Infirmary, but later transferred to Royal Preston Hospital for surgery.
Staff from the company helped paramedics from Blackburn Ambulance Station by fetching frozen peas from the nearby Tesco supermarket to preserve the fingers while Mr Wilson was taken to hospital.
An ambulance spokesman: "The people at Tesco were brilliant as were the people at KSS who applied the dressing which helped him tremendously."
