TEN people arrested in a major police anti-drugs operation were due to appear in court today.
Five men and three women were arrested on Thursday after £240,000 of property was seized in dawn raids on houses in Burnley, Nelson and Brierfield. Another local man and a man in Cleethorpes were arrested in separate incidents.
Seven vehicles, £10,000 cash and a quantity of substances that were being tested by experts were seized during the operation, code-named Fiscal.
The operation, which is investigating the supply of heroin and money laundering, has lasted seven months and involved 70 officers.
The properties raided on Thursday included Harle Syke post office, Burnley, which was closed for business until further notice.
All ten people were due to appear at Burnley Magistrates Court today charged with a number of offences including conspiring to supply heroin and conspiring to launder the proceeds of drug trafficking.
