REFEREE Peter Jones blundered disastrously at Ewood last night and, once again, cost Blackburn Rovers dearly.

The match official, who rightly sent off Graeme Le Saux on his return to Ewood, also dismissed the innocent Sebastien Perez to continue his unfortunate habit of showing the red card to Rovers players.

It is only last season that Jones dismissed Jason Wilcox in the home game against Coventry and was then at the centre of the stormy FA Cup tie at Upton Park when Kevin Gallacher received his marching orders.

Gallacher was hard done by but the Frenchman can feel even unluckier. As Rovers boss Roy Hodgson sarcastically put it: "Sebastien Perez had the misfortune to put his nose in the way of someone else's elbow."
