HOSPITALS in the North West needed millions spending on them to make them fit for patients, a powerful group of MPs revealed.
Going into hospital could seriously damage health because of run-down, old and creaking surroundings, according to a damning report by the Commons Public Accounts Committee. A spokesman for the North West Regional Health Authority said: "We share the concern."
