A LIGHT-fingered, green fingered thief stole a piece of Joan Mullin's heart.
Eleven years ago, Joan's late husband Tom bought her two rose trees and planted them in the garden of their Leigh Road home.
But on Tuesday Joan was saddened to discover one of them, a yellow Peace rose, had been stolen.
Pleading for its return, Joan said:"I can't believe it. It had great sentimental value. My husband only saw the roses bloom once before he died.
"Whoever dug it up didn't leave a trace of soil and filled in the hole perfectly. I'm so upset. I just want it back."
