IN response to your article 'A-mazing' (August 27) may I first congratulate all the students on their A-level success.

Well done also to those with D and E grades who may not have the academic achievements of those with A grades, but have nevertheless done their best under the circumstances.

These include tutors not being available to teach each important subjects like maths because of other commitments and students being so far behind with other subjects that they have to go in school or college during the Whitsun holidays to enable them to catch up when they should have been home swatting up for their A-levels.

Come on schools and colleges, don't sit back basking in the glorious success of those academically bright students (all credit to them). What about the others? Get your finger out please for the future students.

ANGRY, Eccleston (name and address supplied).
