BETTY Alty knows a thing or two about flowers.
And the former Atherton florist is now turning her knowlege and expertise towards the Millennium.
Betty and a team of helpers from Atherton Parish Church are starting to plan a celebration flower festival for August 2000!
'Through all the changing scenes of life' will chronicle the history and heritage of Atherton through the centuries.
"This will be a fitting project to mark the Millennium. It will be a lot of hard work but we have a good group of willing workers," said Betty.
Betty, formerly of Marshalls Florists in Market Street, and her team will start the fund-raising in November.
