HOW lovely it was to see Williamson Park used for the Lancaster Carnival. Families with picnics, children playing and having rides and running free, no hooliganism and everyone enjoying the sun and carnival parade.
Yes - the new venue was a success although we did have a few hiccups, but what can one expect when it was the first time we have used the park. We can learn from them and improve next year.
My thanks go to chairman Geoffrey Fisher, and the Lancaster Carnival Committee for all their hard work and dedication which made it a wonderful day for everyone. I hope that next year the carnival will be bigger and better and that we can perhaps persuade a local bus company to make the carnival more accessible to the people of the district. We would also welcome any new members to the Lancaster Carnival Committee. If you are interested please contact Geoffrey Fisher at the Whitewalls' Restaurant, Hest Bank, Lancaster. Call 822768 and you will be made most welcome.
