STAFF at Pennington Flash Nature Reserve are celebrating a "hide and seek" success.

Figures show that over 2,000 children visited the Flash and its BNFL sponsored educational hide in the hunt for nature facts during the last school year.

School groups from throughout the north west have flocked to Pennington to carry out a variety of educational and fun activities.

A number of local Scout and Brownie groups have also been regular visitors.

Bookings for the new year for the hide, built in 1997 thanks to a £7,000 sponsorship from BNFL, are already looking exciting and classes will soon be underway.

Joanne Gavin, Corporate Community Affairs Coordinator at BNFL said: "The strength of the programme is that learning takes place in a real environment. The children can see, hear and feel nature at first hand.

"BNFL is proud to offer our continued support to the programme at the Flash and I hope we can build on the tremendous success of the first year."
