IN a game totally controlled by the visitors, home side Ashton Town went into the draw for the first round of the Divisional Cup after a penalty given in extra time gave them a 2-1 victory over Squires Gate.
Also during this period Gate had keeper Gareth Gray controversially sent off ten minutes after the event.
In appalling conditions Gate controlled the first half and were unlucky not to go in with a well deserved lead, but bad luck and poor finishing cost them dearly.
Much against the run of play the home side took the lead when Ian Price shot home with the visitors' defence appealing for a free kick.
Gate equalised with a superb goal from lively winger Russell Headley.
In extra time the home side scored the winner from the spot.
