ALTHOUGH Colin Hendry has left Blackburn Rovers, he still has a lot of fans here and he is still helping people in Blackburn.

Colin has sent me an autographed copy of his Rangers debut programme against Motherwell to auction for my appeal to raise money for research into the rare chromosome disorder my granddaughter suffers from and to support the families of children like her.

He also enclosed a signed photograph of himself in his "check suit" which I am sure your readers will remember him wearing.

I am auctioning them separately from the auction being staged for the appeal at the Griffin Inn, in King Street, Blackburn, so that a genuine fan of Colin's will get it.

It will go to the highest bidder and people can ring me with their bids. I am allowing two weeks from the public knowing about it. Then, whoever makes in the highest bid will get the programme, the photograph and a copy of Colin's letter to me, proving the programme is one of only two he has signed.

The money received will go to the charity "Unique" which is looking after my granddaughter. Anyone who would like to give items for the auction at the Griffin Inn or would like to make a donation for this worthy cause can contact me on the same telephone.

A total of £1,500 was raised at the Bee Hive pub for the same cause and I am hoping to raise a lot more as I have items from, Cherie Blair, William Hague, Paddy Ashdown, Jack Straw, Margaret Thatcher and the Rovers, just to name a few, to be auctioned.
