A THEATRE is going to be covered in tin foil to mark the 25th anniversary of Burnley Youth Theatre and former members are invited to the party.

In a dramatic finale to a week of activities, the group has decided to celebrate its silver anniversary in style on October 10.

Development officer Sally Smith said: "We want to hear from as many people as possible who used to be members of the theatre to find out where they are now and what they went on to do and also to invite them to the party and to a reunion at Christmas.

"We want as many people as possible to come along to the party dressed in silver and would welcome any volunteers to help us decorate the building. "We have been given lots of rolls of tin foil from Bacofoil and we will start dressing the building at 2.30pm on the Saturday."

On the night the group plan to hold their own version of the popular TV show Whose Line Is It Anyway and also a time tunnel which will tell the history of the theatre.

Anyone who has pictures, videos or memorabilia is asked to contact the theatre.

Success stories from the theatre include Anthony Preston, who now works for the North West Arts Board, Michael Burnie who starred in the West End in Hair and Martyn Sharp who went from starring as Willie Wonka in the 1981 production to become an opera star.

Anyone who recognises themselves in these photographs and wants to attend the party or has items to give to the theatre display can contact 01282 427767.
