LANCASTER and Morecambe College's new Learning Resource Centre has been formally opened by Hilton Dawson, MP.

The new centre, part of a £500,000 college computing upgrade, will contain 50 networked computers and provide Internet access, video-conferencing facilities, and information and communication technology links to outcentres and companies and also a range of CDs and videos for the use of all the college's students. In addition, there will be a large bank of paper-based learning materials written and produced by the College and which are now sold widely around the country. David Roddam, principal says, "The opening of these new facilities will ensure that the College maintains a level of excellence in training which is unrivalled in the area. They will keep the college at the forefront of delivering training using the latest information technology."
