RADCLIFFE and District Roller Hockey League, in conjunction with St Mary's Park Phoenix Roller Hockey Project, are to run a Pee Wee Development League in the Prestwich area for teams who have not been in any roller hockey leagues. We are also looking for young people who play roller hockey and want to start a team and help will be available for team development.

The plan is to have about six teams running the Development League. The age group will be under 14 and will most likely be run on a Sunday morning, around the Prestwich/Whitefield area. The teams will play each other at least twice and will have a cup competition. If you are interested, please telephone Jim Pilling on 0161 724 7710.

The Radcliffe and District Roller Hockey League First Division will start on October 3 at Castle Leisure Centre, commencing 6pm. Spectators are welcome. Adults £1.50, children 50p, pay on the door.

The league is run on a totally voluntary basis and has no sponsors so if you know of anyone who would be interested in sponsoring the league in any way, please contact Jim Pilling on the above number. There are eight teams in the First Division and six in the Pee Wee Division.

Roller hockey is the fastest growing sport in the Radcliffe area, but it is not on the programme for sport development in the Bury area. The hire costs of sports centres in the area is a big expense so any help with sponsorship or facilities would be very welcome.
