A NEW Prestwich company is hoping to cash in on the recycling boom with its environmentally-friendly products.

A M Cartridges, which was set up with a loan from the Princes Youth Business trust, aims to cut down on the amount of non-biodegradable products used each year by recycling toner cartridges for use in laser printers.

The company, based in the old Co-op yard, Warwick Street, already employs one local person through the Government's New Deal scheme and director Mr Andrew Maudsley hopes the business will expand.

With projected turnover for the first year of between £30,000 and £40,000, he said: "I will be looking for sales and production staff so that I can devote my time to expanding the business as we become established."

The 29-year-old from Rooden Court completed a course at Business Link in Bury and now hopes customers will overcome their fear of using the recycled products.

Stressing the company enforces high standards to ensure no loss of quality he added: "Anyone who uses remanufactured products can look at less outlay for the products as well as helping the environment both now and for future generations."
