THE effects of the new Crime and Disorder Act will be high on the agenda at the sixth annual Greater Manchester Police Home Watch conference.
And a delegation of Home Watch representatives from Bury will travel to the event being staged at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, tomorrow, August 19.
Leading the Bury visitors will be the divisional Home Watch administrator, Denis Kirk.
During the conference, Superintendent Kevin Hart of the force's community affairs branch will give a brief overview on the Crime and Disorder Act and how local people will become closely involved in helping solve local problems.
He will outline what members of the public are likely to see as a result of the legislation.
To help Home Watch co-ordinators become more effective in their role, a 90-page training manual will be launched at the conference.
