TRIUMPHANT speed-king Carl Fogarty was the toast of East Lancashire after winning the world motorcycle crown.
He held off a pack of top foreign stars to finish fifth in the race and clinch the Formula One World Championship at Donington Park.
More than 200 fans from East Lancashire travelled to cheer their hero on.
