CHORLEY boss Bryan Griffiths will welcome back defender Mark Jones after suspension for his side's visit to Gainsborough Trinity.

But wing man Colin Potts starts a one game ban, full back Ross Millard is ruled out with a dislocated shoulder and Ian Harold and Ian Cain are rated 60-40 for a return to the side.

The Magpies have been quick on the draw this term with Tuesday night's stalemate with Accrington being their seventh in 10 games.

"It's no secret that our problem has been scoring goals," said Griffiths.

"If someone becomes available then we have got to be interested but I am working to a budget.

"It is never an easy ride at Gainsborough and they scored six in midweek but we are capable of getting a result out of the game."

GREAT HARWOOD face a tough trip to UniBond League First Division top-six side Hucknall Town in the right frame of mind after their midweek FA Cup success at Whitley Bay.

"We are unbeaten in three games and we are showing a bit of desire now," said manager Ian McGarry whose side is chasing only their second league win of the campaign.

Full-back Neil Kennedy was injured in the cup replay and will need a late check, while Micky Lynch is rated at 50-50. However, McGarry will definitely be without Mark Walsh.

ROSSENDALE UNITED boss Micky Graham may have one or two new faces in his line up at Atherton LR for their North Western Trains League First Division clash. Graham was expecting to speak to a couple of players at training last night but one man who won't be available is Paul Hargreaves.

Atherton are one place behind Dale in 14th place in the league but the Dark Lane boss anticipates a difficult match.

"I saw them against Kidsgrove Athletic recently and they did OK so I am expecting a hard game," said Graham.

RAMSBOTTOM look to complete a perfect eight-day spell by beating lowly Holker Old Boys in the first of back-to-back home games.

Ken Bridge's side have enjoyed FA Cup and league wins in the past week, both without conceding a goal.

Bridge had no fresh injury worries after the mid-week win at Clitheroe when new signing David Yorke-Robinson, a former YTS and first-year professional at Oldham Athletic, came off the bench to score the winner.

He is expected to be involved again but Bridge may consider other changes on the bench with the reserves facing an important game at Clitheroe.

BACUP BOROUGH travel to North Western Trains League new boys Curzon Ashton for a League Challenge Cup Preliminary round tie.

The West View side were dumped out of the FA Cup at Thackley last week and manager Brent Peters believes his side must cut out mistakes at the back if his side are to progress.

"Curzon made a bit of a slow start to the season but they've picked up recently so we cannot afford to make silly mistakes like we did last Saturday."

Anthony Doran, Scott Gizon and Callum Jones should be back to bolster the squad but Colin Lambert and Paddy Revelles are still out injured.

Peters has appointed Paul Moulden as the new team captain to replace Gary Dalton who was released this week along with centre forward Daz Garner.

"I haven't been happy with Gary's level of performance this season so we both agreed it might be best if he found another club," said Peters, who has also put in seven days notice on Darwen's prolific front man Denny Khan.

DARWEN manager Steve Wilkes has Jimmy Khan and Martin Hulme available again for his side's NWTL Challenge Cup Preliminary Round tie at home to Woodley Sports.

But Phil Rose is still absent through suspension and John Haworth, who picked up a bad knock in the 0-0 draw at Fleetwood in midweek, is away on work commitments.

"They play a lot of football so it should be a decent game," said Wilkes, who saw his side leak seven goals in the FA Cup at Billingham Synthonia last Saturday.

COLNE are also in cup action when they visit struggling Blackpool Mechanics looking to pick up where they left off in beating local rivals Nelson last night.

Player-boss Denzil Hart faces more of his legendary goalkeeping problems with Andy Gill and Tony Whitehead - on county duty after starring last night - unavailable.

However, he is happy to call on Ian Outram who played for a spell between the posts at Holt House last season.

University student Joe Warmer may also return and Hart hopes to have Tony Lormar available.

NELSON are away to NWTL Second Division rivals Chadderton looking to bounce back from last night's 2-1 League defeat by Colne.
