MICHAEL Carl Hoyle swore at police after an officer spilled beer on him while confiscating his can of lager, his solicitor told Hyndburn magistrates.
Hoyle, 18, of Richmond Hill Street, Accrington, admitted being drunk and disorderly and was conditionally discharged for 12 months and ordered to pay £40 costs.
David Macro, prosecuting, said Hoyle was seen drinking in Wordsworth Road, Accrington, and there were three other youths there who smelled of alcohol.
Two of them gave their ages as between 16 and 18 and the officer decided to tell Hoyle about the offence of supplying alcohol to juveniles.
Hoyle became very agitated when the officer told him his can was being confiscated. He waved his arms about and shouted abuse, said Mr Macro.
Emma Morrissey, defending, said Hoyle was out celebrating a friend's 18th birthday and underage people were not drinking.
She said Hoyle, who was of age to drink, explained this to the officer and did not see why the police had to intervene.
Hoyle had sworn at the officer when he took the can from him and spilled beer down him.
