RED hot Hawks turned the heat up to full blast last night, 24 hours afer catching a chill.

Hawks hammered Oxford Foxblades at the Arena after losing out in a nine goal thriller against Swindon Chill on Saturday. Once again Canadian super striker Andrew Dickson stole the show with a hat trick in both games.

Hawks have now won three matches in the English Cup but it now looks as though they will fail to qualify although there was a major upset on Saturday when the highly fancied Solihull lost in the Isle of Wight.

"The build up is going well although we were disappointed not to have come away from Swindon with at least a draw."

Hawks lost out to a cruel and controversial late goal at Swindon on Saturday. Ian Richards scored on the powerplay after the referee had penalised Hawks netminder Barry Hollyhead for "interference." It was a bitterly disappointing way to lose what had been a nip and tuck tussle. Hawks looked more like winners for the most past with Andrew Dickson scoring a hat trick and James Beale also finding the target.

Despite being without Brian Smith (family reasons) and losing Tim Dempsey early doors with a groin strain, Hawks showed skill and composure before it all turned sour at the death. Ex Arena ace Robin Davidson contributed to his old club's downfall with two assists.

Period scores: 0-1, 1-0, 4-3.

Scoresheet: Kevin Doherty 0+2, Simon Mills 0+1, James Beale 1+0, Andrew Dickson 3+0, Lamonte Polet 0+1.
