BLACKBURN Hawks have a Christmas Cup extra tonight when they take flight for the coast to tackle Kingston.

But it's a game that player/coach Bobby Haig could well do without.

Haig's squad is down to bare bones after losing several star players at the weekend.

And the gritty Scot could even be watching from the dugout himself.

Haig will undergo a late fitness test after collapsing with a dead leg against Solihull Blaze on Saturday. Laurent Polet and Tim Dempsey will both join Haig for a check after being injured in the same game.

More crucially, Hawks are still without defenceman Kevin Docherty and goal machine Andrew Dickson, neither of whom will make the journey east. "We are leaving Kevin and Andrew behind," said Hawks administrator John Neville.

"They're being rushed through treatment and we hope to have them back for the league this weekend. That's the goal and there is no point taking any risks."
