HALF of your paper (LET Oct 22) was devoted to firework yobs, the front page, opinion column and letters.

All areas of the town have had to put up with bang, bang, bang since last month and, if last year is anything to go by, it will last until December.

Pets are terrified out of their wits for weeks on end.

I understood with the new legislation this would stop, but it has not, and seems to be getting worse.

This could be put to rights immediately by a complete ban on sales until the day, November 5 and ban all fireworks that make a noise. You said in your Opinion column a complete ban would be a draconian step.

You must live out of town in a remote rural area to have this opinion -- us townies would ban them today.

When will this country tackle the problem in a serious manner. Fireworks have no place on our streets -- ban them all now.
