EMERGENCY action to provide post office facilities in Briercliffe is being demanded by Burnley MP Peter Pike.
The sub post office in Burnley Road has been closed for several weeks after Operation Fiscal, a joint operation by police and Post Office chiefs into allegations of drugs supply and money laundering.
Mr Pike said: "Discussions have broken down and no decisions have been made.
"I have again faxed the Post office demanding action to deal with the problem. I have told them the present position is unacceptable.
"We must have action without further delay and solve the problem for the residents of Harle Syke and Briercliffe.''
Four hundred villagers have signed a petition protesting at the closure and deploring the apparent inactivity of Post Office Counters.
A spokesman at Post office Counters said they were still in the same position of trying to gain entry.
They were also still pursuing legal and contractual matters extremely hard to get the office open as soon as possible.
When they get access to the premises they intended to instal an interim sub postmaster as a temporary measure until all the legal matters have been resolved.
