RELICS of the Second World War's Home Guard came to light in a Blackburn attic.

Army experts were called in by the police after workmen renovating offices at Wellington Street St Johns came across the items. They took away mustard gas stimulants used for training by the Home Guard.

A police spokesman said the items were harmless.
