LANCASHIRE Evening Telegraph tipster Harry Barlow will call last orders on his eight-year reign at The Swan at Whalley at the end of the month.

But it won't signal the end of his weekly 'Stable Whispers' column or his involvement in the two racing syndicates he runs in connection with The Swan Hotel.

Harry is moving to Hambleton so he can be nearer to the stables where the syndicate's horses are trained.

But first he hopes to bow out in a blaze of glory by cheering his horse Saffizz to victory in the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot on Friday.

"I used to work at Windsor Castle when I was in the Welsh Guards so I'd love to win that race," said Harry.

"I think it would be the perfect swansong to my time at The Swan."

Harry hopes to stay in the pub trade and has made a bid for the Hambleton Inn which is across the road from the syndicate's stables.
