AMBULANCE crews were called out to a local landmark after children made a hoax 999 call.
Paramedics dashed to Darwen Tower on foot with heavy life-saving equipment after a call claimed a young girl had suffered a potentially fatal bee sting.
But it was a hoax which kept crews busy for an hour.
