THE North Lancashire Road Club claimed their best team win this year on Sunday morning when three of their members all produced 58-minute rides to easily take the award in the Preston Wheelers 25-mile time trial at Garstang.

Held in reasonable weather conditions for cycle sport, the fastest of the local club riders was Fraser Snape of Read with 58mins 3secs which also gave him third place overall. He was followed home by Dave Brown of Salesbury whose 58min 21secs was fourth fastest and also won the 60-plus veteran prize and with Neil Cooper of Darwen clocking 58mins 39secs, the Road Club had an unbeat- able aggregate time of 2hrs 55mins 03secs.

Other East Lancs-based riders returned rides as follows: Jonathan Ratcliffe (Nelson Wheelers) 59mins 08secs, Brian Hickey (NLRC) 1hr 0min 46secs, Peter Haigh (Nelson Wheelers) 1hr 2mins 44secs and Bob Jones (NLRC) a new personal best time of 1hr 4mins 58secs. Fastest time of the day was done by George Nowland of Team Rapide in 57mins 23secs.
