ANOTHER trip to the coast beckons for Preston Cricket Club as they try to stop their steady slip to the wrong end of the Vaux Northern League.

Fleetwood are the opponents this time, a side which enjoyed a win last weekend, unlike Preston, who lost by eight wickets to Morecambe during last weekend's seaside excursion.

This weekend tie could be tricky for the Preston lads, but Fleetwood have been something of an uncertain side this season - Daf snatched their first victory of the season against them last month.

Talking of Daf, unlucky was not the word for them at the weekend as they put on a sterling performance within a reduced over innings at Kendal before the heavens opened again, being rewarded with a winning draw when a win was a distinct possibility.

This weekend Daf are also on the road to the coast, travelling up to Morecambe in a bid to prise themselves away from the foot of the table. They slipped back to the bottom after Leyland surprised everyone with a win against Netherfield at Fox Lane.

Their first win of the season lifted them away from the bottom and hopefully the services of a full-time coach will continue to pay dividends when they welcome Lancaster to Sandy Lane.
