I WAS sorry to read of the problems some people are having with vandals, louts and other brain-dead cretins - and the total lack of response by the council and police (Harassment is ignored, June 3).
Sadly, I'm not surprised as there is now no legal deterrent in this country and my experience of the council and the police is that they are just a bunch of wimps.
You could try contacting Pauline Claire - chief constable of Lancashire Police - asking why these officers are not doing the job and exactly what is going on.
Bring back capital and corporal punishment the sooner the better.
