WELL, not many answered the voting appeal for the Euro elections, and Labour supporters, who didn't think they'd need to bother, paid the price.

The party, because of the low turnout, took a bit of a stuffing from the Tories, and our two standing Euro MPs, Gary Titley and Terry Wynn, who lives in Leigh, just scraped back to Strasburg.

Is it that most people are not interested in being Europeans and they just hope that if they don't bother it will go away?

All that can be said is that this was once again a victory for apathy.
