I DON'T know why it is, but one of life's greatest irritations seems to be dog muck.

Not a pleasant topic, but newspapers receive as many letters on the subject as anything else.

This week a Kenilworth Road, Lowton, resident - a doggie person herself - is annoyed by two owners who walk their pets, allow them to foul there, then don't use a scoop to shift the poop.

She says the situation became so bad that notices were placed on lamp posts asking walkers to remove any dos.

A four legged friend lover and poo pickerupper myself, I must say I don't take kindly to other people's dogs fouling the pavement outside my home, especially big ones.

But I certainly wouldn't leave the pile of muck there for others to walk or ride through. I've no objection to shovelling it up myself.

Or in the case of one doggie offender who left regular dollops in the same spot at the corner of my wall I put a heavy shake of pepper down.

I had no further trouble. Try that!

My complainant wants to know who can be contacted to prosecute offending owners, and what evidence would be needed.

I'd say a video tape or snatched photograph of the owner and dog in action might pay off. Then contact the council.
