RUBEROID Sutton Cricket Club strolled to success against faced bottom-of-the-table St Marys College OB.

In a one sided contest Sutton batted first with SS Das despatching the bowling in an unbeaten 120 and Sean Anders hitting 41 in support.

Sutton closed their innings on 187-4.

And even though St Marys played for the draw from the first ball of their innings they were skittled for 88. Sean Anders picked up 3-16. Sutton are now only seven points behind leaders Caldy.

The Second team travelled to St Marys and played a Second XI that was better than the First XI.

Sutton batted first and were always in trouble against an excellent St Marys attack and were all out for 107.

Sutton made a valiant attempt to win the game but never had enough runs on the board and lost by four wickets.

On Sunday the Third XI played Haydock. Some excellent batting from Haydock saw them reach 241.

Sutton were never up with the run rate after losing early wickets and reached 171-8 at the close. Derrick Moss with 67 not out being Suttons leading scorer.

On Thursday Sutton First XI played Cheshire Lines in the Lever Cup.

Sutton hit 139 with SS Das 40 and then bowled out Cheshire for 70 to progress to the quarter finals.

Sutton First XI were in action again on Friday against Neston in the Liverpool Echo Cup. Sutton batted first and made 129-5. Neston then batted and came away very relieved with a victory seven balls from the end in an absorbing game.
