UNSWORTH were completely outgunned when they entertained Littleborough, hit by the visiting batsmen and bowlers alike.

The Boro took first strike and the foundation for their innings was laid with an opening stand of 116, after which they hit 50 more in the next eight overs, declaring at 172 for 3 due to there having been a break of 50 minutes when rain swept the ground.

Unsworth's fielding was adequate but a couple of slips proved costly as Schofield provided the backbone with a splendid 82 before he was bowled by Pickup.

Unsworth obviously needed a good start themselves but their openers went cheaply and although there were runs from the early and mid-order, the batsmen tended to get themselves out rather than be the victims of good bowling.

Littleborough's attack lacked the bite of recent years and with Miskella far from effective, Deakin cashed in with the Unsworth players almost helping him to a five-wicket haul.

John Harrison batted well, as usual, and went on to top-score with 28 and there were useful contributions from Irfan and Joynson, but the home side were never up with the clock as too many fell playing suicide shots and Unsworth paid the penalty, all out for 133 in the 43rd of their 48 overs.
