IT wasn't an uphill struggle for six-year-old Rebecca O'Gorman when she took part in the Holcombe Hill Challenge. Not only was Rebecca, of Trimingham Drive, Brandlesholme, the youngest fund-raiser to take part, but she raised the most money for Bury Hospice.

The generous charity trekker, an Old Hall CP School pupil, joined 135 fund-raisers, and realised £173.

Mrs Marie Caldwell, veteran marathon runner and organiser pictured with the young winner, was impressed with Rebecca's efforts.

"She did brilliantly. She is a remarkable girl and I am very proud of her efforts."

Mrs Lynn Grant, manageress of the Hare and Hounds pub in Holcombe Brook, presented Rebecca with a £15 meal voucher - the prize for raising the most money.
