ST HELENS Council has set up an out-of-hours service for residents who are experiencing mental health problems. The out-of-hours team provides an assessment and management service for people with mental health problems and offers a telephone helpline for service users and their carers.
The team has two staff, either from a social work or nursing background, and is based at Whiston Hospital. Working hours are weekdays 5pm to midnight and weekends noon to midnight. The helpline number is 0151 430 1885.
