ELEVEN pupils from a local high school are seeking sponsors to help them mark the Millennium in a different way - by taking part in a month-long expedition to Brazil to work in an orphanage.
The youngsters from St Aelred's RC High School, Newton-le-Willows, will combine their orphanage work with a trek through the rainforest and a first-hand look at South American culture.
Although they are busy raising funds for the year 2000 trip more sponsors are urgently needed.
Anyone who would like to help or support the pupils in any way can contact Nick Hill at St Aelred's High School, Birley Street, Newton-le-Willows WA12 9UW, tel. 01925 225974.
